Pop-up Veterinary Clinic Provides Care and Curbs Overpopulation in Questa

  • Local Champion: Localogy
  • Date Funded: June 26, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $7,132

Questa residents and local rescue organizations have always struggled with a critical shortage of financially accessible and geographically convenient veterinary care. The result of that care gap is higher rates of health issues for household pets and an overpopulation of stray animals that place a strain on Questa’s public resources.

To solve this problem, a community member approached LOR with the idea of collaborating with the High Desert Hounds to organize a spay/neuter clinic that meets the immediate needs of local pet owners and animal rescues.

LOR’s funding will cover the cost of staffing and operating a two-day pop-up clinic where animals can receive free spay/neuter services, standard vaccinations, and microchipping.
