New Youth Basketball Equipment Increases Pride and Performance in Questa

  • Local Champion: Questa Independent School District
  • Date Funded: December 19, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $4,760

Questa Middle School’s basketball program has experienced a substantial increase in participation in recent years. While the school district was eager to sustain the elevated levels of involvement, it didn’t have the resources to keep up. The budget for middle school sports in Questa only covers coaches and officials, and many families cannot afford fees to purchase new uniforms or equipment. As a result, the middle school program had so few jerseys that players had to hand them off to one another throughout games, and the uniforms they did have were 5-year-old hand-me-downs. Recognizing the value of providing kids with the resources they need to reach their potential on and off the court, one of the middle school coaches reached out to LOR with a solution. With LOR’s funding, the district purchased the equipment and uniforms required to meet the increased need and empower their student-athletes for years to come!
