New Equipment Modernizes Weiser Middle School’s Wood Shop

  • Local Champion: Weiser Middle School
  • Date Funded: June 17, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $13,280

Approximately 300 Weiser Middle School students take wood shop classes each year, but outdated and unsafe equipment prevents them from learning modern skills that could prepare them for high school career training programs or future trades. The school’s wood shop teacher wanted to help his students develop a solid skill foundation, so he reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help Weiser Middle School purchase equipment like sanders, scroll saws, clamps, and safety gear to create proper learning stations for up to 120 students each day. The new learning stations will help students prepare for Weiser High School’s technical training programs while also teaching students valuable life skills.
