Workforce Center Improvements Expand Skilled-Trades Training in Taos

Taos students pursuing trades have limited space for hands-on training, and UNM-Taos’s new Workforce Center lacks a physical barrier between its construction and culinary arts spaces, creating challenges with noise and dust. To address this, UNM-Taos staff proposed building a storage mezzanine to separate the spaces and provide additional storage. LOR’s funding will help hire a contractor and purchase structural steel, composite decking, and other construction materials. The mezzanine will reduce noise and dust between programs, free up floor space for hands-on instruction, and improve the learning environment for both programs, allowing UNM-Taos to better serve students pursuing skilled-trades careers.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Downtown Taos.
