Monte Vista Teachers With More Online Courses Benefit From Ergonomic Chairs

  • Local Champion: Byron Syring DELTA Center
  • Date Funded: December 1, 2022
  • Grant Amount: $4,000

Teachers at the Byron Syring DELTA Center, an alternative school in Cortez, are dealing with physical health issues because they’ve spent more time sitting in front of computers to accommodate a growing number of online classes. To address the problem, the school’s director of education reached out to the LOR Foundation with an idea for accommodating online instructors. With help from LOR, the school purchased 10 ergonomic office chairs to replace the classroom chairs teachers had been using as well as one massage chair for teachers to use during breaks. With the new equipment in place, teachers will improve their physical health while keeping their focus on the kids.
