Lockers for the Taos Lady Tigers Help Even the Score

  • Local Champion: Taos High School
  • Date Funded: November 9, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $9,700

Unlike the boys’ teams, the Taos High School girls’ basketball team does not have a locker room to store their equipment and uniforms. It’s part of a pervasive problem in many communities where male sports programs get more attention and sponsorships, which ultimately results in more participation. In order to address that inequality, the girls’ basketball coach reached out to the LOR Foundation. With LOR’s help, the school was able to purchase lockers for the girls’ team where they can properly store their gear.
