Live Streaming Increases Civic Engagement in Questa

  • Local Champion: Village Of Questa
  • Date Funded: May 15, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $4,460

The Village of Questa holds in-person council meetings, which are open to the public. These meetings serve as critical forums for civic engagement and the dissemination of information that directly impacts residents. However, many Questa locals cannot physically attend the public meetings due to various constraints, including weather, mobility challenges, transportation limitations, and job and childcare schedules. So, a Village employee reached out to LOR with an idea: purchase and install technology that would enable the council to live stream their sessions. LOR’s support will fund the equipment and professional services needed to implement streaming, enabling more people to participate in shaping Questa’s future and expanding public access to important community updates.
