Lighting Helps Libby Residents Find Medical Equipment They Need

  • Local Champion: Senior Citizens of Lincoln County
  • Date Funded: September 25, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $3,000

The Libby Senior Center’s medical supply loan closet has grown significantly through community donations, including recently expanding thanks to a $20,000 gift to accommodate more equipment. The problem is the storage space lacks windows, making it difficult for volunteers and residents to locate the medical supplies they need. One senior center staffer wanted to ensure residents could easily access the growing inventory, so she reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help the Libby Senior Center hire an electrician to install lighting fixtures and electrical outlets throughout the loan closet. The improved visibility will allow volunteers to help residents find equipment more efficiently, while the outlets will enable testing of items like hospital beds and mobility devices before people take them home.
