Lander Seniors Create a Safer (and Better Looking) Entrance to Their Gathering Space

  • Local Champion: Lander Senior Citizens Center, Inc.
  • Date Funded: July 14, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $570

The Lander Senior Center offers a variety of opportunities for community members to connect, but the entrance to the space is unsafe. A cement median creates difficulties for folks with balance issues or walkers, and the front of the building does not direct pedestrians safely to the entrance. One community member hoped to tackle this problem head on by creating a more welcoming (and more beautiful) entryway—complete with painted pavers, flowers, landscaped rocks, and other amenities that will make it easier for elderly folks to navigate. With the LOR Foundation’s help, the Lander Senior Center was able to purchase the materials they need to to transform the entrance—making it safer and more visually appealing for all.
