Kitchen Renovation Restores Community Gathering Space in Questa

  • Local Champion: Saint Anthonys Catholic Church Questa
  • Date Funded: June 30, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $3,500

The closure of Questa’s local VFW eliminated one of the community’s primary gathering spaces, leaving residents without a critical venue for funeral meals and other community events. To address the increased need for local gathering space, a member of the Catholic Daughters reached out to LOR for support to bring the parish kitchen up to code and restore it as a community resource. While previous LOR funding enabled the purchase of kitchen equipment, this grant will help Saint Anthony’s Parish Center hire a contractor and complete the final repairs needed to reopen the kitchen. With these improvements in place, the Friendship Circle and other community groups will be able to safely prepare meals, host funeral receptions, and support parish and community gatherings. These efforts will restore a valued community asset and strengthen the networks of care and connection that Questa residents depend on.
