Instrument Repairs and Upgrades Grow Cortez’s Community Band

  • Local Champion: Four Corners Community Band
  • Date Funded: February 21, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $3,800

Cortez’s Four Corners Community Band gives local musicians the chance to share their talents with the community. To help more residents participate, the group offers free instrument loans to its members, reducing barriers for those who do not own their own instruments. After seeing increased audience attendance thanks to a previous LOR grant, one band member and volunteer noticed another opportunity to grow local participation. LOR’s funding helped the ensemble repair donated brass and woodwind instruments and purchase new percussion equipment and an electric keyboard, allowing more community members to join the band’s performances.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Onward! A Legacy Foundation
