A Youth Vendor Program Helps Libby’s Budding Entrepreneurs Grow

  • Local Champion: Saint Joseph Parish
  • Date Funded: August 10, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $3,285

Libby teens have few opportunities to practice entrepreneurship, leaving them without the practical skills they need to support long-term confidence and prepare for employment. One local church volunteer recognized this gap, so she reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help St. Joseph’s Catholic Church purchase a canopy, grill, serving tables, marketing materials, and other supplies to launch a teen-run food vending program at local markets. With adult food service professionals providing training and oversight, teens will gain direct experience with food preparation, customer service, and cash handling. The proceeds will help participants attend educational events while also being reinvested into extracurricular activities and local nonprofits such as the Libby Food Pantry.
