Holiday Food Boxes Relieve Hunger and Spread Cheer in Questa

  • Local Champion: North Central Food Pantry
  • Date Funded: November 6, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $4,000

Gathering to share a holiday meal gives people the opportunity to connect with family and friends, create cherished memories, and celebrate their cultural heritage. However, for the growing number of Questa locals struggling with food insecurity, purchasing special food for holiday celebrations is not an option. The North Central Food Pantry helps to provide hunger relief for residents in need, but over the past year, the number of families accessing their services has doubled, and donations to the organization have decreased. So, a staff member reached out to LOR to help close the financial gap and ensure that all underresourced community members could access a holiday food box.

LOR’s funding will help fund food for over 300 boxes to be distributed during the 2024 holiday season.
