Handling Equipment Keeps Questa Residents and Animals Safe

  • Local Champion: Village Of Questa
  • Date Funded: April 15, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $3,691

Without designated animal control officers, Questa residents face risks from stray animals, including bites, attacks, and the spread of diseases. After the Village of Questa fully staffed its police department, village staff recognized an opportunity to address this longstanding issue and reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help the Village of Questa purchase essential animal control equipment including outdoor kennels, transport cages, catch poles, and microchip scanners. These tools will enable police officers to safely capture, temporarily house, and transport stray animals to the local shelter, protecting the community while creating a more humane alternative for local animals.
