Games Grow Relationships at Libby’s Lincoln County Library

  • Local Champion: Lincoln County Public Libraries Foundation
  • Date Funded: September 16, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $700

A recent survey asked Libby residents what programs they would like to see implemented at the Lincoln County Library. Many of the locals who responded said they wanted games that residents could play together, so one library staffer decided to start a new community game program. While the library was able to gather some of the pieces for Magic: The Gathering—one of the games locals asked for—its limited budget prevented staff from buying the other supplies needed to run the game. So, the staffer reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help the Lincoln County Public Libraries Foundation purchase cards, dice, deck boxes and other supplies for Magic: The Gathering. Once all the materials have arrived, the library will host evolving games, giving residents a chance to make new friendships and strengthen their bonds.
