Free Movement Classes Expand to Accommodate Elders with Limited Mobility in Taos

  • Local Champion: Taos local
  • Date Funded: February 14, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $3,920

Taos elders are fortunate to have access to free yoga and functional movement classes, provided twice a week by a local instructor. However, the format of the original classes made them inaccessible to seniors with temporary and long-term mobility impairments. After receiving multiple requests to add a class designed to support improved health outcomes for elders with limited mobility, the Taos-based instructor contacted LOR for support. Funding from LOR will cover the class promotion and venue rental fees, making it possible for this local champion to expand the number of Taos seniors benefitting from her classes and functional movement expertise.
