Hardware and Finishes Help Questaños Reopen Remodeled Community Space

  • Local Champion: VFW Post 9516
  • Date Funded: February 14, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $9,700

Before it sustained significant water damage, Questa’s VFW Post served as one of the town’s few gathering spaces. In addition to community meetings, Questa locals often held personal events like funerals, baby showers, and wedding receptions at Post 9516. When flooding rendered the space unusable for community functions, residents came together—providing donations and volunteering their time and talents—to address the major structural damage. After more than two years of renovations, they needed a little extra help to get the space across the finish line, and a local VFW member reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will enable the VFW to purchase the hardware and finishes they need to reopen and resume their important role in the lives of Questa locals.
