Fairy Gardens Inspire Cortez Families to Get Outside

Like any rural community, Cortez has its plethora of cars. But it also has numerous paths, sidewalks, and parks for residents to walk around the community. The problem is residents don’t always use them. One Cortez local had the idea to build and install small fairy gardens to inspire local families and children to get outside and enjoy Cortez’s public spaces. LOR’s funding helped her purchase the concrete, pebble, and other materials to make the fairy gardens and print DIY instructions so families could make their own. With support from the city of Cortez, a map of the gardens will help residents navigate to each exciting addition!
