Cooking and Wellness Classes Connect Cortez’s Hispanic Community

Cortez’s Hispanic families have few opportunities to connect with their culture and each other, a problem one local volunteer realized after 15 months of aiding and advocating for Cortez’s Hispanic community. Hoping to create a welcoming space and strengthen community participation, the founder of Manos Unidas saw an opportunity. LOR’s funding helped Manos Unidas launch cooking and wellness classes taught by native Spanish speakers designed for and with Cortez’s Hispanic community. The classes will bring families together to build healthy habits, invigorate cultural connection, and deepen community engagement.
