Backboards Provide Independent Practice for Weiser Tennis Players

  • Local Champion: City of Weiser
  • Date Funded: July 31, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $9,228

The public tennis courts at Weiser’s Memorial Park offer residents free play, but without backboards, community members cannot practice independently, develop their skills, or stay active when a partner is unavailable. One local Weiser business owner and tennis player wanted to fill this gap, so she reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help the city of Weiser purchase and install two 8′ x 12′ tennis backboards at Memorial Park, strengthening skill-building and providing exercise for residents of all ages.
