Awareness Campaign Connects Lander Students to $58,000 in Available Scholarships

  • Local Champion: Lander Elks #2317
  • Date Funded: July 15, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $4,725

In Lander, the Elks Lodge has quietly accumulated $58,000 in scholarship funds for high school seniors, but few families know this money exists. Despite the Elks’ long history of community service—from Christmas baskets to Easter egg hunts—their scholarship program hasn’t received the same visibility, leaving substantial funding unused while students struggle to pay for college and vocational training. After recognizing this disconnect between available resources and community awareness, one volunteer had an idea to launch a comprehensive outreach campaign. LOR’s funding helped purchase display tents, banners, and promotional materials that allow Elks members to set up at community events and directly inform families about scholarship opportunities. This visibility campaign ensures Lander students learn about funding that could increase both the number and size of awards, transforming unused resources into educational opportunities for the community’s graduating seniors.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Lander Community Foundation.
