An Awarness Campaign Grows the Cortez Literary Scene

  • Local Champion: Four Corners Writers
  • Date Funded: January 27, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $8,000

Four Corners Writers is a new nonprofit that supports Cortez writers through writing workshops, classes, and an anthology of local authors. But many residents remain unaware of the group or the opportunities it provides. One Cortez local reached out to LOR with an idea to help local nonprofits with marketing. At the same time, members of Four Corners Writers contacted LOR for support reaching more local authors and readers to grow the group’s mission. LOR’s funding will help Four Corners Writers hire marketing professionals to create an awareness campaign and a new website to promote community events, writing workshops, and the group’s anthologies, further establishing Cortez as a flourishing literary hub.
