Additional Training Helps Weiser Volunteers Keep the Community Safe

  • Local Champion: City of Weiser
  • Date Funded: December 18, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $1,000

Weiser residents rely on a group of volunteers called Citizens On Patrol (COP) to manage traffic and keep residents—particularly kids—safe at local events. However, those volunteers often do not have access to training resources and other materials that would help them better ensure the safety of the community. A member of COP contacted the LOR Foundation with a potential solution: classes for volunteers and identification kits for kids. LOR’s funding will support host control and flagging classes for COP volunteers, as well as identification kits for kids, so Weiser residents stay safe.
