A Van Increases Independence and Community for Cortez Seniors

  • Local Champion: Senior Housing Options (Madison House)
  • Date Funded: April 14, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $10,500

Assisted living residents at Cortez’s Madison House face significant transportation challenges that limit their ability to attend medical appointments and participate in community activities. Staff with Senior Housing Options, which operates Madison House, wanted to better meet residents’ needs, so they reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help Senior Housing Options purchase a five-passenger van so that seniors can reliably attend medical appointments and social activities—enhancing both their health and quality of life without placing additional strain on Cortez’s limited public transportation system.
