A Trailer Keeps Monte Vista’s Award-Winning Band Rolling

  • Local Champion: Monte Vista Community Fund, Inc.
  • Date Funded: August 7, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $28,820

Monte Vista High School’s award-winning marching band program has grown to include 80 students—nearly a third of the high school—but transporting instruments, uniforms, and stage props has been a major challenge for band members and their families. One longtime Monte Vista resident and band booster worried that the band’s reliance on borrowed trailers was creating liability risks and limiting their ability to participate in more events. So, he reached out to LOR with an idea. With LOR’s funding and support from the Monte Vista Community Fund, the Monte Vista Band Boosters Club will purchase a large trailer to safely transport band equipment to competitions and events. The new trailer will allow Monte Vista’s talented musicians—who have won more than 15 state championships—to participate in more regional events while continuing to proudly represent the community.
