A Skate Feature Creates A New Space for Libby Youth

  • Local Champion: City of Libby
  • Date Funded: January 23, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $28,160

Since Libby’s original skate park was removed in 2004, local youth have lacked a safe place to gather and skate. Residents have pushed for a new community skate park for years, but the effort has gained little traction without funding for the project. One Libby local wanted to finally make a skatepark happen, but he realized it would take small steps. So, he came up with an idea: build a half-pipe to begin laying the groundwork for a larger park. In need of support, he reached out to LOR. LOR’s funding will help the City of Libby build and install a half-pipe at Fireman Park, creating a dedicated space for Libby youth and a cornerstone for a larger community park.
