A Simple Fix Helps Weiser Volunteers Support More Cancer Patients

  • Local Champion: Angel Wings Network
  • Date Funded: May 8, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $4,962

Angel Wings Network is the only organization of its kind in Weiser. The nonprofit supports cancer patients and their families, connecting them with resources and offering direct assistance like prepared meals and appointment rides. Over its lifetime, the group has helped hundreds people with cancer, but the volunteer-run organization has lacked the supplies it needs to reach its goal of supporting every cancer patient in the Weiser area. One volunteer reached out to LOR hoping to find support for some much needed equipment. LOR’s funding will help Angel Wings Network purchase a new printer, shade canopy, and event chairs, allowing volunteers to do more outreach and help all of Weiser’s cancer patients.
