A Medical Monitor Keeps Ambulances Ready in Libby

  • Local Champion: Libby Volunteer Ambulance Service
  • Date Funded: October 22, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $27,724

The Libby Volunteer Ambulance Service answers more than 700 emergency calls each year. Many of those calls require the response of multiple ambulances. The problem is two of the service’s four ambulances lack the required monitoring equipment to respond safely to car accidents and other emergencies, leaving Libby with limited ambulance coverage. Libby’s EMTs wanted to make sure they could respond to every situation, so they reached out to LOR with a solution. LOR’s funding will help the Libby Volunteer Ambulance Service purchase a refurbished medical monitor for a third ambulance. The new equipment will enable volunteers to monitor oxygen levels, heart rhythms, blood pressure, and other vital signs during transport, ensuring patients receive life-saving care and keeping the Libby community safe.
