A Map Helps Cortez Locals Find Murals—And Brings Business Downtown

  • Local Champion: Cortez Retail Enhancement Association
  • Date Funded: July 24, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $1,600

Downtown Cortez boasts 16 murals in an eight-block stretch. These works of art could serve as attractions to increase foot traffic in the Main Street area—if only folks knew where they were! A local business advocate and community arts group volunteer suggested that a map and brochure—as well as a digital app—could solve this problem by creating a kind of art walking tour. LOR’s support will help with the cost of producing the map and brochures, helping to bring awareness and additional business to Main Street.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Onward! A Legacy Foundation
