A Furniture Upgrade Makes Visits to Weiser Memorial Hospital Safer and More Comfortable

  • Local Champion: Weiser Memorial Hospital Foundation
  • Date Funded: February 6, 2024
  • Grant Amount: $29,941

Hospital waiting rooms can be intimidating in the best of cases. At their worst, they can be uncomfortable and unhealthy for patients and families who are sometimes navigating difficult situations. Weiser Memorial Hospital’s Surgical & Specialty Clinic has been expanding its services to better meet the needs of Weiser, but the clinic’s waiting room fixtures have not received an update in some time. The clinic’s aging furniture cannot be adequately sanitized and lacks the strength to safely hold all patients, a problem staff at the Weiser Memorial Hospital Foundation wanted to fix. In need of a little help, they reached out to LOR. LOR’s funding will support the hospital foundation’s purchase of a range of chairs, including bariatric chairs for heavier patients, and tables. The new furniture will be more comfortable and make it easier for staff to clean and disinfect, helping Weiser locals access the health care services they need.
