A Dog Waste Station Keeps Libby’s Jerry Dean Park Clean

  • Local Champion: Libby K-12 Schools
  • Date Funded: June 6, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $300

Jerry Dean Park has become a popular destination for Libby residents walking their dogs, but the lack of disposal bags has led to pest waste being left throughout the park. One local volunteer has led a recent push to clean and improve Jerry Dean Park. Seeing how this latest problem was affecting the park’s cleanliness and usability, she reached out to LOR with a new solution. LOR’s funding will help the Libby local (through Libby Public Schools) purchase and install a dog waste receptacle equipped with bags. The new trash bin will encourage pet owners to clean up after their animals, keeping Jerry Dean Park a welcoming outdoor space for all Libby residents.
