Teachers Create Family Fun Nights in Monte Vista

  • Local Champion: Bill Metz Elementary
  • Date Funded: November 11, 2022
  • Grant Amount: $2,700

Many parents and guardians in Monte Vista are looking for assistance helping their kids outside of the classroom, something that aids early-childhood development and can create more quality time spent between children and their parents. To address this issue, teachers at Bill Metz Elementary wanted to create family fun nights for students and their families where parents can learn at-home teaching practices, spend a fun evening with their kids, and share a meal together. The LOR Foundation helped make the initiative possible by purchasing supplies including games, crafts, and learning materials—as well as food for two family fun nights throughout the school year.
