Young Hoopers in Monte Vista Get a New, Safe Basketball Court

Students at Byron Syring Delta Center in Monte Vista love basketball, but the alternative school does not have a designated area where kids can hoop—which means they’ve been playing in an active parking lot. A parent and local volunteer noticed this issue and hoped to solve the problem by establishing a basketball court where students could play freely away from moving vehicles. After identifying a safer area to play, the volunteer reached out to the LOR Foundation for help. With a small grant, LOR helped the district purchase and install a new hoop, plus paint a key and three point line on the designated area. Now, free of traffic, young hoopers only have to worry about their jump shots.
