Workplace Wellness Initiative Strengthens Employee Well-Being in Taos

  • Local Champion: Taos Whole Community Health
  • Date Funded: June 30, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $9,197

Many employees in Taos County experience ongoing stress that affects their health, focus, and overall well-being, yet most local workplaces offer few practical tools to help employees manage it in real time. After learning about this growing need through conversations with a board member active across multiple community organizations, Taos Whole Community Health identified an opportunity to act and reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will support Taos Whole Community Health in developing and launching a pilot workplace wellness program that introduces practical, evidence-based nervous system regulation skills to employees at several of Taos County’s largest employers, including organizations in local government, healthcare, utilities, and private business. Qualified professionals will be contracted to design and tailor the curriculum, prepare facilitators, and lead four workplace wellness sessions serving an estimated 60–70 employees. Funding will also cover participant handouts, educational materials, guided exercises, evaluation forms, and facilitation supplies. The program will equip employees with practical skills they can use to better manage stress and improve overall well-being, while laying the groundwork for sustainable workplace wellness efforts that benefit employees, their families, and the broader Taos community.
