With New Robotics Equipment, Lander Students Can Compete Across Wyoming

  • Local Champion: Fremont County School District #1
  • Date Funded: February 13, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $6,164

Lander students are interested in emerging technology, but they don’t have resources and equipment to engage with robotics in a way that students in other parts of Wyoming have done. To address the issue, a parent who chaperones for the middle school technology club, reached out to the LOR Foundation with an idea for launching a new, competitive robotics club comprised of middle and high school students. With LOR’s help, the new club purchased robotics equipment—including a 3D printer, storage organizers, a band saw, a ThinkPad Workstation and more—all of which will help students to participate in state-wide robotics tournaments in the future.
