Veterans and Non-Veterans Come Together Over Coffee

  • Local Champion: Proud Military Parents and Supporters
  • Date Funded: October 30, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $8,406

While Monte Vista has a large community of veterans and active duty military personnel, there are few opportunities to show appreciation and provide support for this part of the community. Staff at Proud Military Parents and Supporters wanted to address this problem, so they developed a plan to host a series of events—beginning with coffee with a veteran at the Veterans Center at Homelake where 90 veterans live—that would allow community member to engage with veterans and active duty military. LOR’s funding will help support care package for veterans and additional community events.

This project is fiscally sponsored by the SLV Development Resources Group.
