The Lander Pipe Band Plays On With New Instruments and Instruction

  • Local Champion: Lander Pipe Band
  • Date Funded: August 4, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $9,900

The Lander Pipe Band is beloved in the community, commonly playing special events like parades and military funerals; they had 79 performances in 2022 alone. And while more Lander residents are interested in joining the band, there is not enough equipment to support an increased level of participation. Therefore, the leader of the band was referred to LOR and brought forward an idea for beefing up its offerings. With LOR’s help, the band will purchase more instruments including bagpipes, bass drums, snare drums, and more. LOR will also help the band access professional instructors, particularly those who can offer expert percussion and bagpipe instruction.

This project is fiscally sponsored by the Lander Community Foundation
