Technology Upgrades Help Lander Community Foundation Support Growing Nonprofit Sector

  • Local Champion: Lander Community Foundation
  • Date Funded: April 16, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $5,844

In Lander, over 50 nonprofits and fiscally sponsored organizations rely on the Lander Community Foundation to handle funds and donor data sets for free or at low cost, but the number of organizations continues to grow, creating administrative risk as LCF isn’t equipped to handle this volume. For example, currently, one computer serves three employees, meaning only one person can work at a time, slowing down requested reports significantly. The computer’s small screen also makes working with large spreadsheets difficult and increases the risk of clerical errors. Further, as workshops and nonprofit gatherings grow larger, video conferencing equipment becomes essential—especially as LOR transitions out of Lander and organizations need to connect with funders. LCF also provides free photography and videography at nonprofit events, a pilot program that has taken off and now requires better camera equipment. When the executive director recognized that the cumulative impact of inadequate equipment was putting strain on staff and creating lags and inconsistencies for nonprofits depending on LCF support, she reached out to LOR with a solution: upgrade and add equipment. LOR’s funding will help purchase desktop and laptop computers, an external monitor, conferencing equipment, and a cinema camera, allowing staff to work efficiently while continuing vital support services.
