Taos Distribution Pods Provide Essential Feminine Products

  • Local Champion: Free Flow NM
  • Date Funded: May 2, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $9,500

Many women and girls in Taos face significant barriers to accessing menstrual products, including limited income, transportation challenges, and few local resources offering low-cost or free menstrual care. Seeing a need, staff with Free Flow New Mexico came up with a solution and reached out to LOR. Their idea? Self-serve distribution stations that provide free, discreet access to menstrual products. LOR’s funding will help Free Flow New Mexico purchase materials to create two “Period Pods”—stations decorated by local artists and stocked with up to 2,000 menstrual kits. Each kit will contain a month’s supply of essential products, and the stations require no registration or forms—ensuring women and girls in Taos can access essential health care with dignity.
