Subsidized Rental Fee Keeps Taos Youth on The Field

The Taos Youth Soccer League serves hundreds of children ages 4-18 in Taos, providing them with regular physical activity and helping them build their self-confidence and leadership skills. Due to the large number of league participants, games are often held at Taos Eco Park, but this year, the town announced that they could no longer offer the space for free. To avoid passing along the rental fee to families, a local parent and coach reached out to LOR. Support from the LOR Foundation will cover field rental costs for the 2024 season, giving the organizers time to fundraise and develop strategies to accommodate the new expense in future years while keeping league fees affordable for low-income families.
