Stagecraft Program Trains Monte Vista Residents in Audio Engineering

  • Local Champion: A Monte Vista Local
  • Date Funded: March 30, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $12,500

Monte Vista is home to many talented musicians, but residents have limited opportunities to develop audio engineering and entertainment production skills, restricting their ability to participate in the creative economy. After hearing from musicians and artists at The Church Project who were interested in building sound and production expertise, the founder identified an opportunity to launch a training program using professional talent already available in the community.

LOR’s funding will support hiring instructors, renting stage lighting equipment, purchasing advertising, and providing completion stipends for a free, eight-part stagecraft apprenticeship program. Six residents will gain hands-on experience in audio engineering and production through training sessions and apprenticeships, support 12 live concerts, and equip them with practical skills to secure paid work at future events.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Optimystics Citizens Action Network.
