Shelving, Signs, and Cameras Support Monte Vista’s Community Thrift Shop

  • Local Champion: La Puente Home, Inc.
  • Date Funded: March 6, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $9,991

La Puente’s Rainbow’s End Thrift Store in Monte Vista is an important community asset. Not only does the store give Monte Vista residents access to more affordable goods, it also reinvests 100% of its profits into the community. Despite an increasing number of residents depending on the thrift store’s services, the building’s organization and antiquated systems negatively impact customers and Monte Vista’s downtown area. One La Puente staff member saw an opportunity to grow the positive impact of the store, so she reached out to LOR with an idea. LOR’s funding will help Rainbow’s End purchase new shelving, signs, a step ladder, and a security camera system. The equipment will help the store attract new customers, prevent illegal dumping, and strengthen its contribution to the local economy.
