Live Music Strengthens the Monte Vista Farmers Market

The Monte Vista Farmers Market is the only event of its kind in the community, giving local farmers, artisans, and small business owners a valued venue to sell their products. However, increasing attendance has remained a persistent challenge, limiting vendor sales and the market’s broader economic impact. So, a market employee came up with an idea: pay local musicians to perform at the market to draw more residents and visitors, encourage longer stays, and support stronger vendor sales. Support from LOR helped the Monte Vista Farmers Market provide stipends for local musicians to perform across the 2026 and 2027 market seasons, covering 22 weeks of live musical entertainment to strengthen Monte Vista’s local economy.
