Print Anthology Showcases Lander Writers and Builds Literary Community

  • Local Champion: A Lander local
  • Date Funded: April 30, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $1,000

In Lander, many authors and writers lack outlets for their work beyond personal publication efforts. After one local writer started an online anthology to share his work alongside other local writers for free, he began receiving questions from readers about when a print version would be available. When these requests became frequent enough to demonstrate real demand, he had an idea to create an annual print anthology and just needed help launching the first edition. Printing through Ingram Spark means every book will be catalogued with the Library of Congress, making it easy for librarians and booksellers to order directly from a platform they already use regularly. Sales from the first anthology will support printing the next year’s edition, creating a sustainable annual cycle. The publication party and distribution will be held in collaboration with the Bookmarked Literary Arts Festival, helping foster Lander as a literary destination within Wyoming. LOR’s funding helped purchase 75 print copies from Ingram Spark, gifts for volunteer editors, promotional fliers, launch party venue and refreshments, and cover artwork by a local artist.

This project is fiscally sponsored by Lander Community Foundation.
