Local Photographer Honors Heroes of the Hermits Peak Fire

When the Hermits Peak fire ripped through northern New Mexico in 2022, countless members of the Taos community stepped up to offer support by creating shelters, donating food and water, and helping evacuees find critical resources. Many of the individuals who offered that aid worked behind the scenes with little or no recognition, but one local photographer wants to honor them. Through a portrait photography series called “Hermits Heroes”, which will be displayed in public spaces throughout Taos, the men and women who helped during the fire will be recognized for their work. The LOR Foundation helped fund supplies for the project including photo paper, foam core mounting, and hardware for hanging and mounting images.
