Libby’s Farmers Market Gets a Boost Thanks to New Storage Equipment

  • Local Champion: Libby Area Chamber of Commerce
  • Date Funded: May 1, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $4,892

While the Farmers Market at Libby is an essential community asset, the labor-intensive work associated with setting up and tearing it down each week is wearing on the aging volunteers. Already, the market committee has lost 3 of 12 volunteers because transporting picnic tables, shade tents, utility boxes, and other supplies up two flights of stairs at the Chamber of Commerce building is daunting work. Recently, though, volunteers reached out to the LOR Foundation with a simple solution: purchasing a storage shed nearer the farmers market. With LOR’s help, the chamber bought an A-frame shed as well as wagons to help ease the burden of transporting materials each week.
