Holiday Hams Help Put Protein on the Tables of Food Insecure Families

  • Local Champion: Taos Feeds Taos
  • Date Funded: October 24, 2023
  • Grant Amount: $10,000

Taos Feeds Taos has been helping hundreds of food insecure families in Taos for decades. Each year the organization provides a $125 voucher to the local grocery store, plus a holiday ham. Trouble is this year inflation left local grocers unable to donate the hams. Taos Feeds Taos reached out to LOR for help with an interim solution—purchasing hams for families—while the organization raises funds to provide hams to all eligible families next year. LOR’s funding will cover the cost of hams for 400 families.
