Football Equipment Supports Youth Sports on Monte Vista’s North Side

  • Local Champion: Sargent Youth Sports
  • Date Funded: December 9, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $9,682

An increasing number of Monte Vista youth on the north side of town are interested in recreational football, but financial barriers prevent many from exploring the sport at a young age. After participation grew to 50 young athletes, the registrar for Sargent Youth Sports reached out to LOR with an idea to support this rising interest.

LOR’s funding will help purchase uniforms, helmets, and helmet caps for the nonprofit’s football program, ensuring that all Monte Vista youth in grades 1–5 have access to safe, high-quality gear as they learn the sport before joining school teams. The new equipment will create a more inclusive environment where every young athlete can participate and build their skills, and ensure that families on the north side have access to recreational sports opportunities similar to those offered through the City of Monte Vista’s programs.
