Filters Keep Weiser’s Parks Green

  • Local Champion: City of Weiser
  • Date Funded: August 19, 2025
  • Grant Amount: $9,900

The irrigation system at Weiser’s Memorial Park frequently clogs with debris, forcing maintenance crews to manually clean intake screens and limiting watering to daytime hours when staff are available. After city maintenance workers approached the city clerk about installing pumps and filtration screens to solve this persistent problem, she reached out to LOR for support. LOR’s funding will help the city of Weiser purchase automatic screen systems and efficient pumps for both Memorial Park and the Park Soccer Complex. The upgrades will eliminate the need for constant manual maintenance, allowing 24-hour watering cycles that create healthier turf, save water, allow more suitable watering times, and free up staff for other park improvements.
