Expanded Recovery Program Serves Growing Number of Lander Residents Seeking Support

  • Local Champion: The Rock Church
  • Date Funded: June 2, 2026
  • Grant Amount: $22,600

In Lander, residents in recovery need consistency to maintain sobriety, but some available resources are strained by the volume of people seeking services. The Celebrate Recovery program started two years ago with three people now regularly serves over 60 weekly attendees and continues growing rapidly—outpacing the group’s ability to keep up. The program uses a 12-step approach that brings together people addressing substance abuse, eating disorders, codependency, gambling, and other addictions. Intentionally creating community around recovery, the group hosts a free meal before meetings every single week, regardless of season or holiday, because consistency matters in the recovery process. The program is led by people in recovery themselves and welcomes families, with childcare available so parents can participate. To meet the growing demand, one of the program volunteers reached out to LOR for support to purchase additional tables, chairs, tablets for tracking participants, signage, hygiene kits, seasonal clothing, gas cards for transportation assistance, and funding for weekly meals and a meal coordinator stipend. LOR’s funding will help launch infrastructure that allows the program to sustain impact while participants transition from receiving support to mentoring others.
